Graphic Designer | Educator
Graphic designer and educator with more than 30 years of professional design experience and more than a decade teaching graphic design.

​My background includes branding, identity development, packaging, print and digital communication, creative direction, curriculum development, and work-based learning. Today, I combine professional design practice with design education, building programs that prepare students to think, work, and communicate like designers.

Professional Experience

Graphic Design Teacher
North Orange County ROP | 2015–Present
Teach high school graphic design through North Orange County ROP, currently at Brea Olinda High School.

​Develop and teach a sequential graphic design curriculum emphasizing design fundamentals, typography, visual communication, Adobe Creative Cloud, creative problem-solving, critique, production, and professional practice.

From 2015–2026, taught at El Dorado High School, where I developed advanced and honors-level graphic design curriculum and created Design Rescue Studio, a work-based learning program that gave advanced students the opportunity to complete professional design projects for real clients.

At Brea Olinda High School, I am rebuilding the graphic design pathway with the long-term goal of developing an advanced work-based learning design studio.
Graphic Designer 
Dutch Medical Food | Freelance | 2020–2025
Developed the visual identity and packaging system for a Netherlands-based nutritional products company.

Designed the company identity and more than 70 product packages in Dutch and English while collaborating remotely with an international team.

The HandAble Company | 2010–2021​
Co-invented and developed the HandAble mobile phone holder and directed the visual identity and marketing of the company.

​Created the brand identity, packaging, e-commerce website, advertising, social media content, promotional materials, and product videos while overseeing visual consistency across the brand.

Worked as an in-house designer supporting more than 200 real estate agents in the Newport Beach office.

​Produced high-volume marketing materials including property flyers, brochures, postcards, email campaigns, and other print and digital collateral while maintaining established brand standards.

Disneyland Hotel
The Walt Disney Company | 1988–1991
One of my first jobs was at the Disneyland Hotel, where I worked at the Monorail Café and Chef’s Kitchen Character Breakfast.

​I started as a busboy and later became a host. It was fast-paced, crowded, guest-focused work, and long before I became a designer or teacher, it taught me quite a bit about professionalism, communication, and taking care of people.
